on a house in the oakland hills. it happened around 3:30 this morning on oakwood drive, the tree estimated to be 75 foot tall crashed down on the corner of the roof. the downed tree also brought traffic on oakwood drive to a stop. firefighters say they do not know what caused that tree to fall. >>> an investigation is underway into a crash involving a scooter and a santa clara county sheriffs patrol car. the accident happened before 12:30 this morning in the area of west heading street and the alameda. investigators are trying to determine if one of the drivers may have run a red light. two people on the it scooter were taken to the hospital but their injuries are not believed to be serious. the deputy in the patrol car was not hurt. the vehicle sustained damage to the right front bumper. a couple of san francisco police cars will be out of action after an unusual crash. officers were investigating an argument on the 4000 block of mission street. police say pickup truck sideswiped a patrol car, sending it into a second police car. witnesses say officers had to scramble to avoid getting hit

have play add role. >> an oakland audit accuses two city council member of violating rules, after the auditor found members illegally directed staffers to swing to a lucrative contract to turner group construction company that was for $2 million demolition project at the old oakland army base. the audit says brooks negotiated part of the contractor herself. turner construction, whose vice president has close tied to brooks and reed lost the contract when the manager stepped in and ordered a competitive bidding process. the auditor says the findings were will forwarded to the district attorney. >> president obama is starting a joint news conference right now with palestinian authority abbas on the second day of his middle east trip. this is a live picket of the podium, and abbas is speaking right now and the president will speak. president obama left israel and arrived in the west bank at 2 1/2 hours ago. the two had a working learn and will visit a youth center shortly. president obama wants to hear from palestinians and israelis on what it will take to restart peace negotiations.

in oakland, san leandro, hayward and livermore have decided to strike this morning. kron4 is reporter jackie sissel joins us live from san leandro with more. >> i am at the san leandro recycling center and you can see dozens of workers and international dockworkers and warehouse workers union are out on strike. there are about 150 workers at this location but there are three locations and all. they're all being protested it in ways that is it for various reasons. they said there is a federal law that is then broken, not riding in and tethreatening and interrogating employees. this is a big powerful garbage company and has to start following the law. >> they have been abusing and threatening and intimidating people and it has to stop. many of these people are an aggressive they think they can be pushed around. we're making a point, everyone has to follow lot including big corporations to think they're above the law. >> there are about a hundred and 50 workers at this location and about 250 in all at three locations. they are striking here today in san leandro and the headquarters over in oakl
